Knee Arthritis

The most common type of knee arthritis is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage in the knee wears away over time. This gradual wear and tear condition is most common in people aged older than 50 years.

Arthritis in the knee can lead to pain and inflammation in the knee joint. Other symptoms include difficulties bending or straightening the knee, swelling and stiffness of the knee joint, and knee joints that make an audible snapping or clicking sound during movement.
