Chondromalacia Patella
Chondromalacia patella, also known as knee pain, occurs when the tissue under the kneecap begins to break down and soften. This condition causes the knee and femur to rub together, which leads to pain behind, below, and on the sides of the kneecap.
One may also experience a grinding sensation when flexing the knee. Chondromalacia patella is usually triggered by excessive activity involving the knee, tight or weak muscles associated with the knee, or irregular kneecap positioning.
