Gregory Schweiger, MD
Dr. Greg Schweiger is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been practicing for over twenty-two years in the fields of orthopaedic trauma and sports medicine. Having completed an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, he has extensive experience with complex fracture care and reconstruction. He also has a particular interest in sports medicine, with an emphasis on knee and hip arthroscopy. He treats all disorders of the knee, including meniscal tears and ligament injuries. His approach to ACL reconstruction has evolved to the use of the quadriceps tendon as a graft tissue of choice. Hip arthroscopy has become a significant focus of his practice. This allows a minimally invasive approach to treating athletic hip pain due to femoral acetabular impingement and labral tears.
After completing his trauma fellowship in 1999, Dr. Schweiger practiced in Boise for 14 years and enjoyed rewarding relationships with patients in the area. In 2013 he, along with his wife and two daughters, relocated to Anchorage Alaska for a new experience and to fill a community need as an orthopaedic trauma specialist. After an adventurous 8 years in Alaska, they decided to return to the location they feel is home. Dr. Schweiger and his team are dedicated to providing timely access to quality surgical and non-surgical care.
